What a funny word that is. Hiatus a big ole plate o’ baked beans. Hiatus, how you doing? Anyway, I’m back though not with much today. Been very busy and distracted, but research for the offgrid cooking series is complete and I’ll resume writing that soon.
Greta and deb have been busy too, I photographed a dozen new paintings today.
At the top right of this page is a new painting by deb. That’s me - Straw Boy, in a Straw Hat, picking Strawberries. Seemed like a good fit.
“Brett” is just one of several new images I recently added to the fivewomen gallery. Every month or two, after enough artwork has accumulated, I set aside a day for a shoot. On an afternoon when the light is suitable, I take lots of photos using a variety of lens openings. Later, I select the best shot of each piece and put it in a folder corresponding to the artist.
The rest of the process is mostly automatic - each image is resized for thumbnail and large web versions, watermark added, piece added to the database, and images uploaded to the web server. Then one of us edits the details of each piece such as the title, medium, dimensions, and so on.
Is anyone out there actually reading this? I’ll keep writing either way but I might be more motivated if you say hello. There is no need to leave your name or email address - for now anyway. If a lot of spam shows up I’ll reconsider.
